Karen Meadows, Ph.D. Archaeology

Founder

I am a researcher, fact-checker, and editor with a PhD in archaeology. My resume (archaeologist, researcher, online content editor, program evaluator, product developer) personifies my knack for sourcing, verifying, and communicating information.

My approach to work is respectful of time and place. As an archaeologist, accuracy, consistency, and a clearly stated purpose is essential. As a freelance research specialist, a principled use of time and the meeting of deliverables is also critical.

A born researcher and fact-checker, I have applied these skills to various writing projects including evaluating potential education partnerships for school boards, sourcing and editing online content for housing and homelessness associations, and translating evidence-based research into accessible content for print and digital resources.

I am a perpetual student and, since receiving my PhD, have completed courses on fact-checking, proofreading, copyediting, creating accessible documents, book production, and structural and stylistic editing.

I bring my eclectic accumulation of education and my digging skills to my work, for you.

“I have been described as resilient but really, I am dogged! Great qualities in an archaeologist, even better qualities in a research and fact-checking specialist. I am also easy to work with having worked with all the great personality types over the years!”
