Our Mission

Our mission is to help individuals, families, and communities preserve their stories, memories, and personal histories through thoughtful documentation, careful research, and meaningful storytelling.

Meet the Team

Cherryhill Works is a mother-daughter business based in Ontario, Canada. Together, we bring experience in academic research, archival methods, editorial services, outreach, and client support. Through careful research and thoughtful storytelling, we help people reflect on the moments, memories, objects, and histories that have shaped their lives.

Karen Meadows, Ph.D. Archaeology

Founder

I am a research and documentation specialist with a PhD in archaeology. My background as an archaeologist, researcher, database and inventory curator, online content developer, editor, and program evaluator reflects my strength in sourcing, organizing, and communicating information.

My work is grounded in respect for time and place. As an archaeologist, I value accuracy, consistency, and a clearly stated purpose. As a research specialist dedicated to preserving personal and family histories, I also understand the importance of careful planning, reliable communication, and meeting agreed-upon deliverables.

I am also a lifelong learner. Since receiving my PhD, I have completed courses in fact-checking, accessible document creation, book production, proofreading, copyediting, and structural and stylistic editing.

I bring this combination of education, curiosity, and careful research skills to every project I undertake.

“I’ve been described as resilient, though I prefer the word dogged. Both are useful qualities in an archaeologist, and even better qualities in a personal history specialist. I am also easy to work with, having collaborated with many different people and personalities over the years.”

Izy Seymour

Outreach and Communications Manager

I've tried on many different career hats over the years, including TV writing and almost becoming an electrician, but nothing has brought me more joy than bringing people together. For the past five years, I've been producing wellness, music, and community events, and I love bringing my passion for connection and organization into my work with Cherryhill Works.

I enjoy drawing on the various skills I've gained through my education and from living and learning alongside all the interesting people I've had the privilege to meet. Cherryhill Works brings those experiences together through my love of storytelling, gatherings, family, nostalgia, and connection.
